2010-11 Kindergarten Fund

Donations by check will be accepted at the front office (print out “Kindergarten Contribution Form” from this story for the donation form). You may make an online donation with your credit card at: HERE for Razoo.

Donations are fully tax deductible and in the unlikely event that we do not receive full funding by the deadline, all donations will be refunded. All donations (checks and online credit card payments) must be received by July 15th.

Why does my donation go through Razoo?

Friends and Family of South Loop is using Razoo so that we can can offer a secure way to process online donations that allows us to accept credit card donations without paying transaction fees. Donations through Razoo are processed using Network for Good. For more information about donating on Razoo, please click here.

Is the amount raised shown on Razoo a grand total of our fundraising efforts?

No, Razoo only shows donations made online; Friends and Family of South Loop is also accepting donations made by check. Please refer to the thermometer on SouthLoopSchool.net or the South Loop Fundraising Page for a more accurate report.

Dear South Loop School Families:

First, I can’t thank you enough for your commitment, understanding and enthusiasm over the past few months. I am thrilled to announce that Chicago Public Schools has funded three full day Kindergarten classrooms for South Loop School next year. As promised, individuals who donated to the Kindergarten Fund may receive a full refund.

Please email Patricia Adams at with any Kindergarten Fund questions and/or to inform her of your refund decision. Repayment checks will be available in the Main Office beginning July 30th from 8:00AM to 5:00PM.

Also, please consider donating—or if you have already donated, please consider requesting only partial refund of your donation— so the school may hire part-time Teaching Assistants ($38,600 per Assistant) for the Neighborhood Kindergarten classrooms. Currently, 32 students are registered in each in Neighborhood Kindergarten Classroom, and if this year emulates past years’ trends, several more students will register in September and throughout the year. A Teaching Assistant provides lower teacher/student ratios in the classrooms so instruction can be better individualized to students’ educational needs. Donations will still be accepted online for this effort.
