A New Look, A New Perspective

The Local School Council and the School Administration are pleased to announce the launch of our new school website. The new website features:

• Simplified navigation
• New professionally developed branding
• A new school mascot
• An improved calendar
• And most importantly, more information about our school!

Don't let the simplicity of the site fool you. The new site is built on a sophisticated content management system which will make it easier to update and help us to keep the information current.

Hundreds of volunteer hours went into development of the new branding and new website by members of Local School Council's Marketing & Communications Committee. The goal of this effort is to enhance communications between school and home, and to help our school with its fundraising activities. The new website provides a foundation for future initiatives which will further enhance communication.

Parent Patrol Volunteers Needed

As the weather is turning cooler and more of us are driving, we are need of a few more parents to help out with Safety Patrol/Kiss-n-Go drop off at the Main Building.  The shift runs from approximately 8:30 - 9:00am and is a fun way to get your morning exercise while meeting some of our South Loop families and providing an invaluable service to our school community!

Volunteers assist children out of cars and onto the playground.  You can volunteer one day a week, one day a month, or whatever works for your schedule.

Follow The South Loop Way Traffic Procedures

The first few weeks of school are always a little hectic for parents who drive their children to school, as it seems to take a while for our family chauffeurs to get the correct traffic flow down. We all can help to make the process go as smoothly as possible by following The South Loop Way:

Be Safe: Always slow down around the school, and follow the recommended traffic flow. Pull over ONLY in designated areas for drop off.

Be Responsible: Take the time to review the correct traffic flow. Cars should always approach the school by going NORTH on FEDERAL, turn RIGHT and go EAST through the school parking lot, then turn RIGHT again and go SOUTH on PLYMOUTH.

Be Respectful: Our staff of parent patrol volunteers do what they can to keep traffic flowing. Please show your respect for their volunteer efforts by following their instructions. Show respect to the other drivers and for the safety of the children by not passing ahead in line.
