South Loop School is a dynamic diverse neighborhood school located in the heart of Dearborn Park. We are a community school of choice for families and students. With an involved Local School Council, active parent involvement and a committed staff who love teaching, we prepare our students for interaction in a global society. Fine and Performing Arts Magnet Cluster

This program helps the school form partnerships with various arts and cultural organizations in Chicago. Our students receive instruction in at least three of the fine art disciplines: visual arts, music, dance, or drama.

Exposure to different arts programming helps students develop a life-long appreciation of the arts. Enrollment-by-lottery for this program is obtained by submitting an Option for Knowledge application during the months of October to December.
