South Loop School is a dynamic diverse neighborhood school located in the heart of Dearborn Park. We are a community school of choice for families and students. With an involved Local School Council, active parent involvement and a committed staff who love teaching, we prepare our students for interaction in a global society. You must live within South Loop's neighborhood boundries in order to enroll your child.

This program provides an accelerated instruction program in core content areas and includes a world language, computer science, laboratory science and fine arts. An enriched curriculum allows for skill development appropriate for student abilities and interests. Student enrollment is based on testing eligibilities. This program helps the school form partnerships with various arts and cultural organizations in Chicago. Our students receive instruction in at least three of the fine art disciplines: visual arts, music, dance, or drama.
Exposure to different arts programming helps students develop a life-long appreciation of the arts. Enrollment-by-lottery for this program is obtained by submitting an Option for Knowledge application during the months of October to December.
