South Loop is more than a school. It?s a diverse learning community of students, families and educational leaders who value and support a high-quality learning environment for everyone.

Excellence is expected from all of our students. Our staff and parents are also held to high standards as partners in our students? education. Families play a huge role in the success of the school. South Loop parents volunteer their time during school as well as before and after school.

We also offer meaningful before-school and after-school programs to keep students engaged in positive creative pursuits and involved with the community around them. Our extensive programs begin as early as 8 am and run as late as 8 pm, giving our students and parents ample opportunity to benefit from all that we have to offer.

Available programs focus on the following areas:

• Academic (i.e., After-school Counts, Homework Hour, Science Club)
• Performance (i.e., Drama, Dance, Opera for All, Hip-Hop)
• Athletics (i.e., Golf, Basketball, Football, Volleyball)
• Fine Arts (i.e., Violin, Cello, Piano, Band)
• Social & Emotional Support (i.e., Ada S. McKinley, Boys Rights of Passage)
